Abstract

In this talk we'll discuss André's construction of almost faithfully flat extensions of perfectoid algebras obtained by adjoining a compatible system of p-power roots of a fixed element. We will also give some background on Zariski closed subsets of perfectoid spaces as this is used in the construction of the extensions
