We will survey extensions of Hilbert's Tenth Problem. We will focus on the questions:

1. Is the problem of solvability of diophantine equation over the rationals effectively solvable? \item


2. Is the problem of whether a diophantine equation has infinitely many solutions over some number field decidable?

We will also discuss relations between the latter with some similar questions over the field of global meromorphc functions of one variable.
