Personal Profile of Dr. Malena Espanol

Biography

Since Fall 2019, I am an assistant professor of applied mathematics at Arizona State University. From 2012 to 2019, I was a faculty at The University of Akron. From June 2009 to August 2012, I was a postdoctoral scholar at the California Institute of Technology where I was a member of the Computational Solid Mechanics Group directed by Prof. Michael Ortiz. In May 2009, I obtained my Ph.D. in Mathematics from Tufts University where I worked with Prof. Misha Kilmer. The dissertation title is "Multilevel Methods for Discrete Ill-Posed Problems: Application to Deblurring". I studied Licenciatura (B.Sc.) in Mathematics at Universidad de Buenos Aires. I am a 2013-2014 Project NExT Fellow.
