| Brady has been teaching math at Park East High School since 2005. Students conduct original social science research and hosted a visit from the Associate Director of the 2020 Census in her Statistics class, which is a New York City Department of Education-certified College Preparatory Course. She provides Academic Intervention Services (AIS) to ninth graders; her approach was profiled in a 2015 Kate Taylor NY Times article, Algebra Scores Prompt Second Look at Revamped Regents Exams, and the Center for New York City Affairs’ August 2015 report, Rough Calculations: Will the Common Core Algebra Regents Exam Threaten NYC’s Graduation Rates. Brady was a recipient of the 2014 Sloan Award for Excellence in Teaching Science and Mathematics and a finalist for the Big Apple Awards: Recognizing Teacher Excellence in New York City. She is Head of the Math Department, leads an advisory for under-credited seniors, and is a New York City Department of Education Master Teacher, Math for America Master Teacher, and New York State Master Teacher. In addition, she published data-based activities as a nationwide teacher resource on the U.S. Census Bureau website in 2016. In addition, Brady is a published poet and former Nuyorican National Slam Team Member; her work has appeared in a feature film spoken word documentary, an Off-Broadway play and the New York International Fringe Festival. |
